Leadership Update | Highlights and moving forward

Last month was a standout month for the IQA community. Members came together for meaningful events, new digital tools went live to improve how we connect, our education programs continued to expand, and we made solid progress on initiatives that will benefit our sector going forward.

Our branch committees delivered excellent programming this month. From the inaugural Mackay Quarry Forum in partnership with Resources Safety & Health Queensland (RSHQ) to barefoot bowls in Cairns, student celebrations in Melbourne, and a rain-soaked golf day in Perth - members showed up and demonstrated the collaborative spirit that makes our sector strong.

The 22 October launch of our IQA Connect app is a major step forward for digital member services. This platform, combined with our refreshed quarry.com.au website, gives you easy access to opportunities, networking and information whenever you need it.

Our education programs continue to adapt to what members tell us they need. Recent webinar topics include managing workplace conflict and equipment safety, with additional programs in development to help operations stay productive, safe, and meet regulatory requirements.

Meanwhile, important work continues: filming for our 2026 awareness campaign is capturing real stories from members across Australia, and 2026 National Conference Gold Coast conference planning is progressing well with pre-sale registrations opening soon.

As we approach year's end, the momentum is clear. Thank you for making October such a productive and connected month.
